  2. What happens to Re:Sound’s Satellite Radio Tariff after 2011?
  3. What changes does Re:Sound seek in its proposed Satellite Radio Tariff for 2011?

Q1: What is the Satellite Radio Tariff?
A:
The Satellite Radio Tariff, also referred to as Re:Sound Tariff 4, sets out when and how multichannel subscription satellite radio services (such as XM & Sirius) in Canada are required to obtain a licence from Re:Sound (formerly NRCC) for the communication to the public by telecommunication, in Canada, of published sound recordings embodying musical works and artists’ performances of such works for the years 2007-2010. It also sets out licensing requirements from the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) for the communication to the public by telecommunication, in Canada, of musical or dramatico-musical works for the years 2005-2009, and from CMRRA/SODRAC Inc. (CSI) for the reproduction, in Canada, of musical works for the years 2006-2009.
